![]() Talking to CBC News, Woodward said council had voted for the split in a closed session weeks prior to Wednesday's announcement. "We need to make a change," said Township of Langley Mayor Eric Woodward in the release. Mostly the debate was over which municipality assumes the greater cost of policing and the service it receives.Ī release issued Wednesday morning said the township needs a standalone detachment to "better serve the needs of this large and fast-growing municipality." The decision, announced Wednesday, comes following a long-simmering debate over how policing costs and resources are shared between the township - a sprawling, rural municipality - and the lesser populated city, which covers a smaller, urban area. ![]() ![]() The Township of Langley has announced plans to sever its relationship with the City of Langley over policing costs and set up its own RCMP detachment. ![]()

Cécile constantly vacillated between wallowing in self pity due to the consequences of her actions and in turn blaming others and shirking responsibility altogether. ![]() I am well aware that this book YA and therefore a younger protagonist might make mistakes that a more mature one might not but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some character growth, of which Cécile had absolutely none. My first complaint with her character was the she turned out to be the typical spunky agent and this still has not changed. Though like a lot of romances, the main couple is immediately drawn together based on some kind of instinct or intrinsic attraction, unlike many such set ups (see Twilight series for the worst offender) there is a real development of this connection, a solid ground for the characters to care about each other and to connect and time is taken for them to actually get to know each other, making the relationship believable and much more compelling. The characters are incredibly well done, and even the romance is well developed and is well paced. Though it is a YA story, with a fair splash of teen romance, it is also a very unique and well developed zombie adventure. This is much better than good enough and is not the same old, same old.
